Music and How I'm Feeling Right Now

So this post is a little weird (or I consider it to be), or I just feel like it's out of the norm. But at the same time it also makes sense, and I personally think it's a creative way to express what I'm feeling without actually saying it. In one of my previous posts, I mentioned that I love music. I literally listen to music all the time. Whether it be studying, cleaning, working out, or even falling asleep, I am constantly listening to music. I also mentioned that my music taste is all over the place; and it really (and I mean really) is kind of random. But hey at least I have an open mind. So I'll share what I'm currently listening to, my current playlists, favorite artists, and more. Maybe this post will lead you to new music, or you could suggest new songs to me; that would be awesome. My Top 5 Songs So as I'm looking at my top 5 songs on my "liked library" on Spotify, these songs are so good and I highly recommend. My Family -- from "The Ad...

"Hug Your Friends"

Image
"Hug your friends." What does it mean? It means to literally hug your friends, right? Well yes, but it can also have so many more meanings than that. This week's blog post is a little more serious because this is something I've had on my mind lately. I saw this picture this past week on Instagram, and I scrolled right past it; reading what it said, but not really giving it much thought. Days later, I saw it on other media platforms, and not just once, but multiple times. I thought more about this, and I soon came to realize that it means than just three words. It means more than its literal meaning; in fact, it means a whole lot of things. What it means to other people will vary, so perceive how you wish. But I want to talk about what it means to me. To me, this phrase means to never take your friends (or anyone for that matter) for granted. Check on your friends. Tell them you love them. Invest your time in them. Call them just to say hi. Take a picture with them, it...

10 Random Things About Me

Image
So this is only my third blog post, and I realized that you don't really know much about me. Now I know it's only the third week of school (right?) and us college student are just now getting settled in a routine of our classes, some of us having exams coming up (I have 2 next week, ew), and others may be tied down to papers and lab reports. But nonetheless it's still the beginning of the school year, and I thought what better way to share things about myself than by doing "10 Random Things About Me"! So, here it goes.  1. I used to play soccer. I know in class I mentioned that I like to run, but my first love was soccer. At 3 years old, that's typically the age that your parents put you in any and every sport, and I think they do this for 2 reasons: 1) they need to tire you out since you have endless amounts of energy; and 2) they want to see which sport you take a liking to (if you take a liking to any of them). Well, that's exactly what my mom did with...

"My Kid Could Paint That"

Image
I watched this documentary, as part of a school assignment, called "My Kid Could Paint That". Basically it was about this little girl named Marla Olmsted who became globally famous for her art pieces. She was only four years old, and her pieces were being sold for tens of thousands of dollars. However it covers even more than that, as the story takes a turn and people begin to wonder if it was the Marla who solely did the paintings, or if she received help with them. Marla would paint art pieces like this one, which is called "Ocean". All of her pieces are abstract art, and what made Marla special was how famous art critics would be astounded at the fact that a little four-year-old had such an incredible eye for color and could make these beautiful pieces as young as she is. People from all around the world would be curious of how a girl that young could paint such complex and extraordinary works of art. Throughout the documentary however, the narrative took more o...
